Store marketing is far from us, yet we still had to cook something up here. How do we entice customers into the store when online sales have dominated the football shop business for years? We achieved 3.5 million organic views in six months. What would have happened if we had used boosting as well?
STRATEGY
Gemini said I encountered my favorite piece of in-store marketing when I was 4 years old. My parents were buying a child seat for my sibling in a baby shop. At the checkout, if you rolled two 6s with two dice, you got a 50% discount. This is fun for adults in itself, but as a child, it became clear through my parents' gift: "If you succeed, you get this discount as pocket money" (It didn't sound exactly like that; they bought the Lego set I wanted). We applied this same logic in this project as well. People don't care about percentages; they care about the specific amount. How much more stays in my wallet? Or what do I win by going there? Let’s look at a few examples we implemented in the store at 81 Andrássy Avenue.
Who is the G.O.A.T.?
Our cooperation began in July 2025, and we had to start with something serious. For this reason, we installed two coin-operated display cases. One featured Messi's jersey and figure, the other Ronaldo's. We placed 1,000 coins at the counter, and anyone who made a purchase could vote. We closed the one-month campaign with 600,000 organic views and a 12% increase in sales.
Data collection
Win a Champions League ball by telling us which one is your favorite team! In addition, by providing your email address, we can send you a newsletter about the latest news in the football shop. We collected 400 email addresses in just one month! We reached 250,000 views, which isn't that high, yet we closed the month with the best sales figures ever!
1+1=Ball
A copy of the aforementioned concept (the dice one). Score two goals and win a World Cup ball + a 15% discount. Only Ronaldo has scored that many goals in his career, for heaven's sake. Here, we also received influencer support from the store, so that our faces wouldn't be the only ones overused in the videos. Incidentally, we generated 1.3 million organic views.
